Yahoo Finance a top financial company and subsidiary of the Yahoo conglomerate, has in a quiet move launched its own crypto trading feature on its platform. According to a tweet by sources, the company known predominantly for trading stocks has at this time integrated a new buy/sell option for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) on its platform. As evident on its website, these specified crypto coins now have an accompanying buy and sell button next to their symbol monikers.

Yahoo finance had before now provided only statistics (Price, Market Cap and Charts) for Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Ethereum Classic and a few more coins but with no buy or sell options for these coins on the platform.
This new crypto trading feature by Yahoo is facilitated by TradeIt; an API which links retail investors and app developers with any online financial broker. Hence with this newly embedded feature, users who wish to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin via the Yahoo platform can click directly on the ‘Buy‘ option button and proceed to select their choice crypto broker; notably Coinbase or Robinhood.
With the new feature, a few users have questioned the initial integration of Litecoin over Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Ripple(XRP) with specific reference to the Coin Market Cap hierarchical ranking of these coins; even as it is expected that trade options for more coins would be introduced. Also, the crypto trade feature is only available in the United States as at this time though it is sure to roll out to more countries in due course.
According to enthusiasts, the introduction of crypto trading features on the Yahoo Finance platform is a pointer to a larger mass adoption goal for cryptocurrency and a likely surge pump for prices as the news was greeted with wide spread excitement and publicity just as more companies join the fold.
